Day 1. Kata Tjuta (Olgas), Olga Gorge Walk, Uluru Sunset Viewing and Drinks
Welcomed on arrival at Ayers Rock Airport prior to 1.00 p.m. and transfer to Ayers Rock Resort. Enter UluruKata Tjuta National Park, a region that has been inhabited for the last 22 000 years by the Anangu people. Travel to Kata Tjuta and take the opportunity to walk into majestic Olga Gorge. Admire the sheer walls that flank you as you follow the natural creek bed into the gorge. Keep an eye out for petroglyphs (stone carvings) on the gorge floors, and see plants so rare that they are found nowhere else on earth apart from around these domes. Your guide will detail the myths and legends that are associated with this sacred place and explain the geological history behind this remarkable formation. Late in the afternoon, return to Uluru for the famous light show at sunset. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and relax as the show unfolds before you, casting Uluru in brilliant colours.

Day 2. Uluru Tour, Sounds of Silence Dinner
Rise early and enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne while watching the sun rise over Uluru. Take a walk to Mutitjulu waterhole. In place of sunrise and Mutitjulu, you can choose to climb Uluru and enjoy the unhindered views from 348 metres above the desert floor. Later, join the guided Mala Walk, visiting traditional art sites and learning of the regions geology and flora. Call into the Cultural Centre and Maruku Arts and Craft Cooperative. Tonight, experience the Sounds of Silence as you dine on the finest cuisine in the solitude of the desert. Listen to the haunting tones of the didgeridoo, and as the sun sets, enjoy the sounds of the desert and a guided tour through the spectacular Outback night sky. (D)
