Day 2. Kata Tjuta (Olgas) Morning Tour
Travel through the vast desertscape of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to Kata Tjuta, a formation of 36 huge rock domes, deep valleys and creek beds. Join a guided walk into Olga Gorge, viewing plants so rare that they are only found in and around these distinct sandstone monoliths. It is believed that at one time the domes may have been a giant single sedimentary rock, but wind and rain over millions of years have whittled it back to the domes that stand today. Tales of the Tjukurpa (Dreamtime) period are closely linked to Kata Tjuta, and understandably, this area is a vital cultural significance to the Anangu people who have lived here for over 20,000 years. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 3. Uluru Sunrise
Rise early and travel out to Uluru to watch the dazzling display of light, shade and colour as the sun's first rays creep over the horizon and scale the monolith. Coffee, tea or champagne will be served at the sunrise viewing area before you return to your hotel (complimentary tour). This afternoon, transfer to Ayers Rock Airport for your flight home.
